UNITED WAY OF THE LOWCOUNTRY

Become a Holiday Hero For a Child in Need This Holiday Season

As we enter into this season of giving, United Way of the Lowcountry hopes you will consider helping bring the joy of Christmas to children and families in our community through Operation Holiday Heroes.

Crystal and her four children are one of many local families who will be touched by Operation Holiday Heroes. The family recently lost all of their belongings during a tragic house fire. United Way worked with the family through the HELPLINE to stabilize their housing. As they get back on their feet, Operation Holiday Heroes will be there to lend a helping hand.

“Being adopted for Christmas has been the most joyous feeling. It is good to know that people are still giving and helping others in the world today. My children and I will be forever grateful for all who have contributed to helping us during this crisis.”

Operation Holiday Heroes is a countywide collaboration to ensure that every child and family in need has toys and food for Christmas. United Way of the Lowcountry partners with the Toys for Tots Foundation, Deep Well Project, Bluffton Self Help, The Salvation Army, and Love House Ministries to accomplish this mission. “Christmas is a magical time of year, and we want every child in our community to wake up Christmas morning and experience that magic regardless of their financial situation,” said Chrystie Turner, Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of the Lowcountry.
