Thank You For Your Support!

Dear friends,

As the year draws to a close, let’s look back at what an amazing year this has been for Beaufort Walk for Water. We could not have done anything without the amazing support of all our sponsors, donors and our wonderful walkers! We thank God for your willingness to help the billions of people who wake up every day without access to safe water.”

What a great day we had on Saturday 21, 2019 – great weather, amazing turnout and we’d venture to say we all made some new friends that day. We had 34 sponsors, 47 walk teams and 626 registered walkers! Our goal for 2019 was 500 walkers and we were blown away by the participation from all our participants making this year’s walk twice the size from last year’s walk. At the time we also broke the record and became the largest ever regional Walk for Water! That record was only broken later this year by Augusta, GA – a city of more than 10 times the size of our caring community.

We have raised over $79,000 for Water Mission this year and donations are still coming in! Our donation site is still active: events.watermissions.org/Beaufort19. Our goal was to hit $50,000, and God has blessed Water Mission’s important work to design, build, and implement safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas in a big way. Funds raised will be put to use in projects by Water Mission where the need is greatest.

Based on the scale of their solutions, the Beaufort Walk will help provide safe water for over 7,000 people! Imagine – with your help thousands of lives will be saved from water born disease and entire communities will be changed forever.

Another humbling thing about Walk Day was the volunteers! Nearly 100 volunteer students from Beaufort Academy, Beaufort High School, Bridges Preparatory School, and representatives from the Young Marines of Beaufort all joined in to assist with the walk. These young people brought their energy and enthusiasm to the walk. They were aware of the issues with unsafe water and were excited to jump in and help! Our future is in good hands based on the hearts of these volunteers.

Beaufort is a small town, but we have a huge heart! God is also opening doors outside this community, and we had sponsors and walkers from Bluffton a well as Allendale and Hampton Counties this year, proving that this hugely important cause unites us all, and by working together we are making a real difference. “We walk so others won’t have to” is more than a motto, and thanks to all of you it will be a reality for more than 7,000 people!

Our hearts go out to all those that do not have safe water yet, and we pray you will join us in 2020. If you need to make that decision before the end of the year, please contact us through our social media channels: @BeaufortWalkforWater or by phone at 843-769-7395. Thank you again for your support.
We wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas and a blessed 2020.
