Creating Memories That Last A Lifetime

Retired Sgt. Major Clint Kreuser has served this country for over 20 years. He joined the Marine Corps in 1982, where he was first introduced to beautiful Beaufort by the sea. Sgt. Major Kreuser is originally from Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he grew up with his parents and three siblings. Sgt. Major Kreuser met his wife, Denise, in Drill Instructor School. After being deployed to Okinawa, Japan, and then to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, he landed in Beaufort at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island. After more than 20 years of service, he retired in 2004. His wife, Denise, retired in 2005. The couple held the title of the first husband/wife Sgt. Major to serve in the Marine Corps together as Sergeants Major. After retiring, the couple considered moving to Jacksonville, Florida, but they decided to make Beaufort their home for many reasons. They loved the small town feel, and that everything you need is centralized. They also loved the weather here in the low country.

In 1997, Sgt. Major Kreuser received several shooting awards and desired to have them framed. He was intrigued by the creative process of framing and creating shadow boxes. As he awaited his awards, he became friends with the owner/creator working on his projects. This friendship grew into mentorship, where he learned the craft of framing and shadow box making. He worked on the side for four months with his mentor, which allowed him to obtain the necessary tools to be successful in his own business when that time came. While they were stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he was the only one there who mounted medals and created shadow boxes. At that time, he was working from his home.

Sgt. Major Kreuser’s love and respect for those who have served led him to his current business, Precision Medals. He is a veteran who works hard to help other veterans and their families by preserving the memories of loved ones who have bravely served our country in the past. In 2004, Sgt. Major Kreuser launched his website and began taking his business to the next level. The business growth led him to begin looking for property for his business.

“Precision Medals is owned and operated by veterans with over 50 years combined service. Our medals and ribbons are made in the USA and certified by the U.S. Army’s Institute of Heraldry. We have been mounting medals, assembling ribbons, and making shadow boxes for every branch of the Armed Forces for over 25 years. Every medal, every ribbon, and every attachment for every branch of the Armed Forces is in stock.”

Precision Medals has been located at 27 Tidewatch Circle on Lady’s Island for over ten years. Some of the services provided include mounting medals for uniforms, creating shadow boxes, and selling plaques and medals. Sgt. Major Kreuser stated, “Shadow box making is my favorite because I get to see the history behind the projects. I recently created a shadow box for a WWII veteran who was killed in 1945. During the research for the project, it was discovered that the veteran was buried in Belgium. I was able to obtain a copy of the report from his unit, confirming the history behind his death, and shared it with his family.” The history behind the projects makes the work so much more fulfilling. Sgt. Major Kreuser loves being a business owner and the freedom that coincides with being self-employed. He enjoys setting his own hours and not having to answer to anyone.
