Darynn Blackmon was born and raised on Lady’s Island in Beaufort. Darynn grew up on the island with his mother, Dondrea Capers. It wasn’t always easy as a single parent, but she made sure Darynn had everything he needed to succeed in life. Darynn has four siblings (James Simmons, Jr., Jaedon Simmons, Brandon Blackmon, Ty’Ana Blackmon. After graduating from Ridgeland High School in 2015, Darynn began his higher education at South Carolina State University (SCSU). In 2020 he completed his bachelor’s degree in communications.

After graduation, Darynn returned home amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and decided it was time to release the work he had already started creating new all-natural skincare products. Darynn knew early on that he desired to have his own skincare line but was unsure when he would be ready to step out on faith and launch. He stated that he and his mother suffered from eczema and always seemed to have a hard time finding the right products to care for their skin. It had been these personal struggles that led him to begin to research natural remedies.

Darynn expressed that he would love to work in his field also. He has always been intrigued by communications, and after all, he does have his degree. He is interested in television or radio, working in front of or behind the camera. He is also open to the possibility of journalism. Currently, though, Darynn is focused on his small business.

In July 2020, Darynn launched “SKYNN by Darynn”, an all-natural product line handmade by Darynn himself. Some of his best-sellers are: Tumeric mask (for dark spots and/or hyperpigmentation), Whipped Shea Butter (natural moisturizer for all skin types), and Rose Tone (Moisturizer to use after the Tumeric mask treatment). You can find his all-natural skincare products on his website (Shopskynn.com).

Darynn is proud of his small business and continues to study the skin and natural remedies for skin conditions to help him provide the best products to his customers. He stated, “I would love to see my skincare line in stores locally and nationwide. He is proud to share that his skincare line is for everyone with skin and doesn’t discriminate on skin tones or types.
