Rent Sons

Serving the Community One Job at a Time

story by JENNIFER BROWN-CARPENTER

Zach Rockefeller

Have you ever wished you had someone to help you move, do your landscaping, paint the outside or even the inside of your home, or just do odd jobs around your house so that you wouldn’t have to? Well, that is exactly why Rent Sons exists, and your life is about to get a whole lot easier when you decide to give them a call. Rent Sons is a community-focused business. Their ultimate goal: elevating young adults through service and connecting the community through these services.

Zach Rockefeller runs the Beaufort chapter of Rent Sons. He first became involved in Charleston, SC, with Luke Shirley as his boss. Zach went to school here in Beaufort and knew that Rent Sons would do great in a community like Beaufort. Patrick Brown from Newport, Rhode Island, is the founder of Rent Sons and started the company originally as a way to pay for college. After he graduated and spent some time in the music/concert industry, he returned to his original Rent Sons idea and decided to grow it. He had formed relationships with people in his town from completing these odd jobs for them and wanted to see other communities form these types of relationships.

Zach loves being able to serve people in the community and hearing their stories. “Getting connected to the community by doing tasks they don’t want or have time to do is the best thing about this job,” Zach says. “Death, divorce, and moving are some of the biggest stressors in life, so being able to help people in any way is just a gift to both of us.” He also loves landscaping for older people and providing them joy by doing something as simple as planting a bushes or flowers.

The goal in Beaufort for Rent Sons is to lend a hand in the community wherever and whenever they can. Rent Sons takes their COVID-19 protocols seriously and always wears masks when on a job. They do their best to keep 6 feet socially distanced at all times as well. They work hard to make sure the people they serve feel comfortable with everything they are doing.

Zach wants Beaufort to know that Rent Sons is a flat-rate, hourly company that is willing to help with any odds and ends task, and they look forward to creating relationships in the community through their service.
