GLENN WERNER, MD
Glenn Werner, MD, has been practicing medicine in Beaufort since 1992 when he and his wife moved here from Norfolk, VA. Dr. Werner received his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University (1978-1982). He fulfilled his residency in Norfolk, VA at Norfolk General Hospital (1983-1987) as well. He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology. He has been in private practice in Beaufort for over 27 years. He was the first Davinci Robot trained Physician/Gynecologist in Beaufort County.

Dr. Werner is married to Shea Werner, and they have twin children: a daughter, Hannah, an Attorney in Charleston, and a son, Haynes, a Veterinarian in Montana. Dr. Werner states that Beaufort was the perfect place for him and his wife to raise their children. He loves birdwatching, hiking, woodcarving, and painting in his spare time, and is a licensed falconer.

Services offered by Dr. Werner consist of, but are not limited to:
• Comprehensive gynecological care, including routine Well Woman Exams, annual Pap smears, birth control, menstrual dysfunction, and hormone replacement therapy.
• Minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgical procedures. Hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation.
• Treatment of abnormal pap smears, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, PCOS-polycystic ovarian syndrome, and sexually transmitted infections/diseases.
• Evaluation and management of perimenopausal and postmenopausal symptoms.

Dr. Werner stated he never initially gave the practice of medicine a thought. He was always a great student, and while studying at Wake Forest, the Dean approached him about considering Medical School. He applied, was accepted, and the rest is how his story began. When asked why he chose medicine, he states, “I didn’t pick medicine. Medicine picked me.” He also said that he was attracted to OB/GYN because of the combination of endocrine disorders, pregnancies, and surgical procedures. Dr. Werner is proud to have the opportunity to serve generations of women in the Lowcountry. His excellent bedside manner and the level of care and compassion that he gives to his patients are the number one reason for the continued success and growth of the practice.

GREGORY GLOVER, MD
Gregory Glover, MD, moved to Beaufort in 2018. Dr. Glover studied at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he received his Doctoral Degree. He completed his residency at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. Dr. Glover is board-certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery as well as obstetrics and gynecology. His love for science and desire to help people have been a driving force to push him to excel in every area of study he has pursued. He is married to Dr. Kristine Lundgren, and the two have three daughters: Blaire lives in DC, Sarah lives in KY, and Caitlin lives in AL. Since moving to Beaufort, Dr. Glover has joined Dr. Werner in serving the Beaufort County residents. He fell in love with Beaufort and enjoys watching the sunsets over the river and the strong cultural history of Beaufort.

• Comprehensive urogynecological care, including pelvic prolapse surgery, medical and surgical treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence and overactive bladder.

He is one of the first physicians in the US to be subspecialty boarded in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, which is commonly known as Urogynecology. Urogynecology is a surgical subspecialty of both urology and gynecology. Dr. Glover has special training in urology, gynecology, and obstetrics. He focuses on the evaluation and treatment of noncancerous conditions concerning the female pelvic organs and their supporting muscles and tissues, as well as pelvic reconstructive surgery. He is passionate about providing the best and most appropriate care for his patients. Dr. Glover was recognized as one of the top 300 laparoscopic surgeons by the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery.

WERNER AND GLOVER WOMEN’S HEALTH
Dr. Werner and Dr. Glover serve from a place of compassion, with a love for OB/GYN and women’s health. Unlike many practices that are driven by the volume of patients that can be seen, their practice focuses on individual care and spending as much time as needed to reach the correct diagnosis. They explain the treatment options so that each patient has a good understanding of their health. Together, they are the only providers at Werner and Glover Women’s Health in Beaufort. Werner and Glover Women’s Health is the only privately-owned practice in Beaufort. Their office provides a warm, home-felt environment, creating a quiet and welcoming atmosphere. This provides a stronger doctor/patient relationship. The two alone provide all of the medical care to their patients. Many of their staff have been with the practice for 20 plus years, and they consider their practice and staff family.
Dr. Glover’s services are unique to the area. He is currently the first and only MD that provides urogynecological services in the Lowcountry. He currently has hospital privileges at Beaufort Memorial Hospital as well as Coastal Carolina Hospital in Bluffton, SC.

When asked what the pair would like to inform the public, the two stated that screening and early detection are the two things they would like to enforce and educate the community.

• Wellness and screening are essential in women’s and men’s health. There are many tests and exams that are now performed to detect signs and symptoms of diseases, such as cancer, sexually transmitted infections/diseases, and much more.
• Early detection and screening have caused a decrease in the fatality of cervical cancer, which used to be the #1 killer in women.
• If you have any concerns or questions about your female health, it is very important to seek medical attention early.
• If you have a family history of cancer and/or any other medical conditions, it is imperative to share this information with your provider.
• Do not take your health and wellness for granted. A simple test can save your life.

Werner and Glover Women’s Health continues to grow, and their practice is currently accepting new patients. Their goal for the practice is to continue to serve their current patients and their potential new patients with excellence and care in a warm and nurturing environment. The pair would like to continue to provide women’s healthcare to ensure their patients have proper preventative and curative treatments. Dr. Werner states that they will possibly take on another partner in the future to aid in the continued growth of the practice. With the fast-paced growth of Beaufort County, the pair are excited for what the future of Werner and Glover Women’s Health has to offer.
