First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort
14th Annual Nativity Celebration
December 5–7, 2025
Featuring Nativities from the Women of St. Peter’s Catholic Church
Each December, the historic First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort opens its doors for one of the community’s most cherished Christmas traditions — the annual Nativity Celebration. Now in its 14th year, this beloved event will once again fill the Fellowship Hall with more than 200 nativity scenes from across the globe, welcoming visitors to pause, reflect, and embrace the true spirit of the season.
“Each year, we bring new nativities to display alongside many of the annual favorites,” shares Donna Sheetz, Volunteer Nativity Event Coordinator. “This year is especially meaningful as we’ll be featuring a beautiful collection from the women of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.”
The three-day celebration has become a hallmark of Beaufort’s Advent season, drawing nearly 1,000 visitors each year. Guests often speak of being deeply moved by the display — finding themselves reminded of childhood Christmases, family travels, and treasured heirlooms. Each collection tells a story: Some pieces are handcrafted with love, others are exquisite porcelain works, and a few have humble beginnings found in local thrift stores.
“Everyone is welcome,” adds Sheetz. “It’s a wonderful experience to share with friends, family, or grandchildren — a chance to slow down, reflect, and begin the joyful anticipation of Christmas.”
The Nativity Celebration will be held in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort, located at 1201 North Street, Beaufort, SC 29902. Admission is free, with ample parking and handicap accessibility.
