Strength, Style, and Southern Grit

In the heart of the Lowcountry, where tradition meets innovation, Lowcountry Paver is redefining what it means to build something that lasts. More than just a manufacturer of hardscape products, Lowcountry Paver is a family-led business with a mission, to create beautiful, durable, and high-performing pavers that stand the test of time, just like the family behind them.
As the flagship company of Curry Family Brands, Lowcountry Paver has become one of the very few privately owned hardscape manufacturers in the United States. Founded by Tom Curry, this Lowcountry-based company is deeply rooted in the region it serves. With a sharp focus on quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction, Lowcountry Paver has grown from a small concrete block operation into a trusted name across the Southeast.

A FAMILY BUSINESS BUILT ON VISION
When Tom Curry purchased Lowcountry Block, LLC in Hardeeville, South Carolina, he saw more than a facility, he saw opportunity. At just 33 years old, Tom made the bold decision to shift the company’s focus from basic concrete blocks to premium concrete hardscape products. That strategic move set the foundation for what would become Lowcountry Paver.
From the beginning, Tom understood that success meant offering something different, products that not only performed better but looked better too. By investing in top-tier materials and innovative manufacturing practices, he positioned Lowcountry Paver as a leader in the industry, offering durable, visually striking pavers suited for patios, driveways, walkways, commercial plazas, and more.
Today, the company produces a wide variety of concrete pavers and slabs in different shapes, sizes, finishes, and colors, all made with strength, style, and Southern charm in mind.
THE LOWCOUNTRY DIFFERENCE
What sets Lowcountry Paver apart in a crowded market? It’s a combination of superior quality, reliable service, and a commitment to the customer experience.
Each paver is designed with both aesthetics and performance in mind. Whether it’s the warm, coastal tones inspired by the region or the company’s signature tabby shell finish that captures the essence of Lowcountry living, the attention to detail is second to none. These pavers are as functional as they are beautiful, engineered to handle harsh weather, heavy traffic, and decades of use.
As one of the few manufacturers with this level of control over their process, Lowcountry Paver stands behind every product they produce. Their dedication to quality has earned them a loyal following among contractors, landscape architects, developers, and homeowners alike.
A TEAM THAT FEELS LIKE FAMILY
While the products are impressive, the people behind them are the true heartbeat of the company. From Tom’s early days of reimagining what the plant could be, to the current leadership team guiding daily operations, Lowcountry Paver remains a deeply personal, family-first operation.
Tom’s sons, Matthew and Christopher Curry, spent their younger years working at the plant, learning everything from mixing concrete to managing production schedules. That early exposure instilled a deep respect for hard work and craftsmanship. Today, they lead their own companies under the Curry Family Brands umbrella. Curry Crete, known for its corn-on-the-cob concrete trucks, provides high-strength, reliable ready-mix concrete solutions throughout the Bluffton, Beaufort, Hilton Head, and Savannah areas. Curry Disposal, launched in late 2023, is the family’s newest venture, offering convenient roll-off dumpster rentals tailored to everything from construction projects to yard cleanups.
Team longevity is another standout quality. Many employees have been with the company for years and some for over a decade. Steven Vega, now president of Lowcountry Paver, and Cheryl Lamar, vice president, are just two of the many longtime team members who’ve helped guide the company’s success. Together, the team has built an internal culture of trust, accountability, and mutual support.
“It’s the kind of place where everyone pitches in,” says Kevin Paige, the marketing director for Curry Family Brands. “You don’t hear ‘that’s not my job,’ we all roll up our sleeves and work toward the same goals.”
That camaraderie spills over into customer service, where responsiveness and professionalism are key. Whether it’s a contractor needing technical specs or a homeowner looking for color samples, the Lowcountry Paver team treats every client like part of the family.
GROWTH WITH PURPOSE
Since 2020, Lowcountry Paver has seen tremendous growth, fueled by a surge in home improvement projects and renewed interest in outdoor living. As people spent more time at home, they looked for ways to upgrade their spaces and Lowcountry Paver was ready to meet the moment.
Their products now reach across the entire Southeast, from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Jacksonville, Florida, and all points in between. They’ve even delivered pavers as far as Tennessee, further expanding their footprint.
You’ll find Lowcountry Paver’s work in some of the region’s most high-profile projects, including the Oyster Factory Park and Calhoun Street Dock in Bluffton, beach access walkways on Hilton Head Island, and the expansive plaza in front of Credit One Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina. Every paver at that stadium, thousands of them, came from Lowcountry Paver, including their exclusive tabby finish, which merges strength with unmistakable coastal style.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
The vision for Lowcountry Paver is clear: keep growing, keep innovating, and keep serving. The company is focused on becoming the top paver manufacturer in the Southeast and they’re well on their way.
“Being a local brand with deep roots and strong community values is a big part of who we are,” says Kevin. “But we’re also not afraid to compete with national and international brands. We know the quality of our product speaks for itself.”
As they expand their offerings and geographic reach, Lowcountry Paver remains true to its original values, integrity, excellence, and personal service. They’re not just building pavers, they’re building relationships, spaces, and legacies that will last for generations.
