For 37 years, the Beaufort Memorial Foundation Valentine Ball has been a testament to the Lowcountry’s commitment to local healthcare. On Feb. 7, the Foundation transformed Tabby Place in downtown Beaufort into an Amalfi Coast-inspired celebration of generosity, community and vision.
The annual gala benefits the Foundation’s Vision Campaign, built on three pillars: expanding access to care, advancing healthcare innovation and strengthening the workforce. Since its inception in 1989, the Valentine Ball has raised more than $10 million, funding major hospital initiatives, construction projects and lifesaving equipment that directly impact patients across Beaufort, Bluffton and beyond.
This year’s event introduced a fresh format, welcoming guests early for a pre-ball cocktail hour before the high-energy band MVP filled the dance floor. Many attendees dined at local restaurants beforehand, extending the evening’s spirit of support to downtown businesses.
Funds raised will propel transformative projects, including the new 28-bed Bluffton Community Hospital and workforce development partnerships with local schools and colleges.
As Beaufort Memorial looks to the future – renovating its Surgical Pavilion, expanding wellness services and reimagining care delivery – the Ball remains a powerful reminder that when a community comes together with a common purpose, it can shape the future of healthcare at home.
